Team Tapestry: Meet Accounting Analyst III Tucker Thomas

Every member of the Connico team is a critical part of our firm’s vision and contributes in their own, meaningful ways. Our Team Tapestry series highlights the people behind our work, showcasing their individual paths and perspectives.

This time, we’re excited to introduce Tucker Thomas, accounting analyst III, who brings an enthusiasm for learning, inclusivity, and collaboration all while keeping Connico running smoothly.

Tell us about your background and your role at Connico.

I’ve spent the last nine years in the corporate world, starting in 2016 in the mailroom of a major retail corporation. Then, I worked in various administrative roles, including the copy center and check services, all while completing my bachelor’s degree in business administration online. After graduating, I transitioned into sales and use tax before joining Connico in 2023.

At Connico, I focus on accounting and administrative tasks. I handle accounts payable and receivable, reconcile financial accounts, manage invoices and register the company for new licenses and state registrations. I also ensure our Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certifications remain up to date. Beyond that, I assist my colleagues with any accounting-related or general inquiries that arise.

How does Connico support your personal growth and development?

Connico provides opportunities to work on diverse projects that challenge me and help expand my skill set. That variety allows me to grow in both my career and personal life.

What do you find most rewarding about your role?

The constant opportunity to learn. Whether I’m helping others, solving new challenges, or gaining experience with an unfamiliar topic, there’s always something new to discover. Learning keeps my mind engaged and gives me a refreshing break from the routine of a normal workday.

What’s a skill you’ve developed at Connico that you’re proud of?

Small talk! I used to feel uncomfortable making casual conversation, but interacting with people outside my department has helped tremendously. It’s also prepared me for conferences and networking events, where casual conversations with peers are key.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?

To focus on progress, not perfection. What looks like perfection to me might not be the same for someone else. Instead of stressing over achieving an impossible standard, I focus on making steady progress, which keeps me motivated and moving forward.

Which Connico core value resonates most with you, and why?

Inclusivity. I always try to be mindful of everyone’s needs, whether it’s when I’m helping plan company lunches or team-building activities. I make sure to consider things like dietary restrictions and accessibility so that everyone feels welcome and included.

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy work week?

Throwing on comfy clothes, making Jiffy Pop, and settling in with my dogs for a horror movie marathon – at least until we hear a weird noise in the house. That’s usually when we call it a night!

What’s a fun fact about you that people might not know?

I love coming up with movie ideas and crafting storylines. I have a whole list of concepts saved on my phone that I think would make fantastic films. I’ve built out full plots, scenes, and characters, many inspired by my dreams. One day, I’d love to see one of my ideas come to life on the big screen.

If you could try out another role at Connico for a day, what position would you choose?

I’d love to work in scheduling for a day. I minored in project management, and I really enjoyed those courses. It would be great to apply that knowledge in a hands-on way.
