Florida Department of Transportation Pavement Maintenance Management Program
Connico provided cost estimating and on-site inspection services.
Project Details
Connico provided cost estimating and pavement inspection support services for the project that included planned maintenance and rehabilitation of general aviation light, general aviation heavy/regional reliever light, regional reliever heavy/primary light, and primary heavy airports in Florida. These included breakouts based on reconstruction, rehabilitation, and localized maintenance.
The pavement inspection services included supporting Kimley-Horn with field inspections to identify and quantify different types of pavement distresses across both rigid and flexible pavements.
The cost estimates included drainage and electrical modification, further adjusted based on the location factors for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) including District 1 – Southwest Florida; District 2 – Northeast Florida; District 3 – Northwest Florida; District 4 – Southeast Florida; District 5 – Central Florida; District 6 – South Florida; and District 7 – West Central Florida. To support the development of a maintenance and rehabilitation pricing schedule, Connico developed regional factors to help scale costs based on the Airport’s FDOT District. Costs of AC (Asphalt Concrete) and PCC (Portland Cement Concrete) tend to vary greatly as you travel across the state, so a better understanding of how typical maintenance costs could change was important to the planning of maintenance cycles.
